Account Deletion
Last updated: August 17, 2026.
Bridge treats account deletion as two separate steps: deactivating your account, and erasing your personal information. This page explains both, and why some information isn't simply erased along with the rest.
Step 1 — Deactivate my account
Email caleb@bridgechurchrides.com from the email address associated with your Bridge account, or ask your organization's Bridge administrator to submit the request on your behalf. Your login access is deactivated as soon as we process the request — you will no longer be able to sign in, and you will no longer appear as an available driver or be able to request rides. Your personal information is not erased at this step; see Step 2.
Step 2 — Erase my personal information
Erasing your personal information (name, contact information, saved locations, vehicle information) is a separate, explicit request — tell us you want this when you email us, or send a follow-up request at any point after deactivating. We anonymize this information after a retention window intended to cover any operational or legal need to briefly retain it (for example, an in-progress ride, or a recent dispute). The exact length of that window has not been finalized yet — until it is, we anonymize your information as soon as practically possible after we receive this request, and in no case use it for anything other than winding down your account.
What stays on record, and why
Bridge keeps a record of completed rides because a ride is a shared record between the rider and the driver who fulfilled it, and part of your organization's own ministry operations — not something one participant can unilaterally erase from another participant's history. When your account is deleted, the identifying information on those historical records (your name and contact details) is anonymized; the record that a ride happened is not deleted. Administrative and audit records (for example, a record of who approved a driver) are kept intact for the same reason audit trails generally aren't editable by the person they're about.
What is deleted outright
- Your push-notification device token is removed immediately.
- Saved locations are removed (or anonymized along with the rest of your profile, on the same timeline above).
